The Rainbow PC reed
This reed is in fact a smallpipe reed designed to play wet in a practice chanter.
The profile shape creates a reed that is free blowing and has a vibrant tone. The tips are left as thick as possible to help keep the shape of the aperture and avoid crinkling when the reed dries out.
The Rainbow PC reed can be played almost indefinitley without chocking up due to moisture.
Cane PC reeds require a bit more care than plastic reeds but the advantages far outweigh the small amount of time required to keep the reed in top condition.
